General Questions about Treadmills

What’s Wrong With My Treadmill?
Depending which treadmill you have if it’s a home use one you may find a change in noise when using it or it doesn’t feel the same when running on it, this could be a few things the motor may be getting tired or worn generally you will hear a whining noise if it is the motor, or if you hear a slight banging noise when striking the belt with your foot this can be down to the impact board getting loose, wear and tear on the belt this might be why it feels not the same when running on it due to it slipping etc.

What Causes A Treadmill To Stop Suddenly?
A lot of the time the treadmill gets slower over time you might not notice this then it suddenly stops on you first things to check is the belt is not over tensioned and the lineament of the belt is running true because this might put unnecessary strain on the motor and making it stop or very rare the treadmill’s computer/software malfunctions… to help the motor last longer make sure the rollers are clean and well lubricated…

How To Tell If A Treadmill Belt Is Worn Out?
First signs of wear would be the slipping feeling you get when running but to rule this out check the tension of the belt because over time the belt will stretch a bit and it might be a case of tensioning it back up, other things to look out for is fraying on the edges of the belt, splits in the belt which is more likely to be in the centre of the belt and areas of bagginess… If you aren’t confident to change it your self always turn back to your manual or get a qualified technician to change it for you

How Often Should You Replace A Treadmill Belt?
It is hard to say because one belt might wear faster than another depending on the quality of the treadmill belt and how you are using it to another person, for example, someone training for a marathon to someone who enjoys doing steady-state cardio to a light jog the belts won’t wear the same so the best thing you can do is look for the signs of wear like I mentioned above…
